Our guide to Ghost Notes

On this page 6 sections

What it is

Ghost Notes is a musical evening built around live readings. As of October 2026, psychic medium Jess Perlman leads the night and gives readings to members of the audience, while a live group called the Ghost Notes Band supplies improvised music. The show frames itself as a link between the world of the living and the world of the dead.

It is listed as a musical, but it is not a story with a plot and a cast of characters, so this page describes the format and has no synopsis. The readings are live and the music is improvised, which means the content of any single night is not fixed in advance.

This is the show's New York City debut. It was announced as a limited run of ten performances and plays in a small black box theater on West 46th Street. Archer Entertainment Group and The Kaufer Group produce it, with Boat Ashore Productions billed in association.

The music

Rebekah Greer Melocik is credited with the music and lyrics. She also wrote the book and lyrics of the musical How to Dance in Ohio, which reached Broadway in November 2023.

The band is billed as improvisational, and its job is to play through the evening alongside the readings. As of October 2026, no song list is available for Ghost Notes, so this page names no numbers.

The production

The room is a black box theater with a house capacity of 89 seats. Adam Blumenthal's scenic and lighting design covers that one space, and Lili Fuller is credited as the choreographer.

As of October 2026, the cast listing names Jess Perlman, the medium who leads the evening, along with Charl Brown and McKenna OGrodnik. No roles are given for Brown or OGrodnik.

Creative team

Jess Perlman, Briga Heelan and Michael Schwartz share the writing credit, and Schwartz also directs. Perlman works as a psychic medium and ritualist and is a Reiki master. She teaches at Omega Institute's Soul Camp and has given live readings onstage at Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles.

Heelan is an actress and comedian whose television work includes the sitcoms Cougar Town and Great News. Her Broadway debut came in May 2023 in Once Upon a One More Time, where she played Cinderella.

Lili Fuller is the choreographer, and Adam Blumenthal designs both the scenery and the lighting. Joel Glassman is the general manager. Kate Cannova, Courtney Sheinmel and Philip Getter produce for Archer Entertainment Group, and Zach Kaufer produces for The Kaufer Group.
