Privacy
The short version: there's nothing to sign up for, and we use Google Analytics to count visits.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you by name. You can't create an account, and the only form is the search box. To see which pages people read, we use Google Analytics (see below).
Like any web server, ours writes a technical log of requests: the page requested, the time, the browser's user-agent string and an IP address. Logs are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse, and are deleted on a rolling schedule.
Analytics
Google Analytics tells us which pages are opened and for how long, which site or search brought a visitor here, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location (country or city) that Google works out from the connection. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We look at these figures as totals; they are not tied to your name or email.
Google processes this data under its own terms: how Google uses information from sites that use its services. To opt out, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, block cookies for this site in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets two cookies on this site, _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, to tell a returning browser from a new one. They expire two years after your last visit. We set no cookies of our own.
Visitors from Europe are asked first, and Google Analytics starts for them only if they agree. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; declining also deletes these cookies. The choice itself is kept in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie.
Third parties
Fonts, images and scripts come from this site, with one exception: the Google Analytics script, which loads from Google's servers. We don't use content delivery networks, embedded maps or social buttons. Outside links go to theaters' and productions' sites and to map directions; what those sites do is governed by their own policies.
Some ticket buttons are affiliate links to GetYourGuide. When you follow one, you leave this site; GetYourGuide may set its own cookie (for example, to credit the booking for up to 31 days) under its own privacy policy. We count clicks on these buttons (which button, on which page) without storing your IP address, browser details or any cookie.
Search
What you type into the search box is sent to our server to find matching shows and theaters. It becomes part of the page address, so it also appears in the server log and in Google Analytics as part of the page visited. It is not stored anywhere else.
